Dalmatian
An experimental drawing machine
– that creates random, Dalmatian-inspired patterns on thermal paper using an Arduino-controlled candle flame. Built during a five-day mechatronics workshop.
The device uses a motorized metal shield to control heat exposure, generating organic, unpredictable dot patterns that mirror the genetic randomness of a Dalmatian's spots.

quick sort
an organizing feature for apples photo app
This feature for the Apple Photos app enables users to easily select photos and organize them with intuitive swipe gestures on their smartphone.
Users can quickly sort images into Apple’s familiar folders: Favorites, Hidden, Albums, Shared Albums, and Trash. The feature addresses common storage problems by making it simpler and faster to clean up photo libraries.

reflections of spaces
a photobook
This photobook captures intimate glimpses of personal and natural environments — spaces that appear calm yet carry a strong visual presence. Through the interplay of composition light and darkness, these scenes transform into expressive moments of stillness.
The series explores how subtle lighting can evoke emotion, revealing depth and liveliness within seemingly quiet surroundings.

national ufo reporting center
a dataset visualization
– created for a university coding class, using a rather silly but still interesting dataset from the National UFO Reporting Center platform sourced from Kaggle.
The dataset included reported sighting information such as date, city, time, and shape descriptions. I visualized this data through a pixelated map of the United States, where green intensity indicates sighting frequency by area. Alongside four bar charts breaking down sightings by day, month, year, and time.

space age
a mini magazine
Created for a university Design History course, this project involved researching a self-chosen topic, developing it into an essay, and presenting it in print format.
I chose to explore "Space Age" design, examining how advancements in space technology during the 1940s and 1950s influenced the product design of that era — from distinctive forms and colors to popular materials.
The research was compiled into a compact six-page magazine with a designed cover, illustrated with visual examples from this period.

nlv
a sportsclub logo
– re-design for a local fistball sports club called "NLV." The goal was to create a wordmark-based logo that incorporates the club's name while also referencing their mascot, a kingfisher. The sharp lines give the logo a dynamic and energetic look, fitting for a sports club.

eco concious
a sticker set
Created during a high school graphic design course with the task of raising student awareness for everyday classroom responsibilities like closing windows, turning off lights, removing trash, and unplugging devices.
Rather than designing a traditional poster, I chose to create a set of stickers that could be placed directly at each relevant location—at the light switch, trash can, or window—for more immediate and contextual reminders.
The vibrant color scheme was selected to stand out from the typical classroom environment and effectively capture students' attention at the point of action

penpals
letters to my friend
During the 2020 pandemic lockdown at age 15, I began exchanging penpal letters with a friend—starting with handwritten notes, drawings, and analog collages. This led me to discover Canva as my first digital design tool, where I experimented with creating digital letter layouts using curated imagery and collage techniques.
What started as a personal hobby revealed a deeper interest in visual communication and design, ultimately inspiring me to transfer to a high school specializing in graphic and product design to pursue this newfound passion more seriously.
